Non-Discrimination Policy

It is the policy of Northwest Technology Center to provide equal opportunities without regard to sex/gender, age, race, marital status, religion, color, national origin, disability or veteran in the operation of its educational services, recruitment, admissions, financial aid or employment practices.

It is extremely important for students to be in class on time each day. Northwest Tech has an attendance policy that states students who miss more than nine days a semester will not be allowed to enroll for the next semester. Every three “tardies” or “leave earlies” count as one absence. High school activities do not count as an absence as long as the student is on a DCA list from their high school. If a student is absent (except for school activities) a parent or guardian should notify me by calling the Northwest Tech front office at 580.327.0344, texting me at 405.418.6103, or emailing me at tfrascht@nwtech.edu. The student’s high school does not generally call our tech center to notify us of student absences so we ask the parents to notify us in addition to the home high school when a student is absent. Students are asked to complete a Leave Request prior to an absence when possible. The Leave Request form is available www. dd-alva.com/leave-request-form/. This process is similar to the world of work when employees request permission for leave prior to missing work. Please note that Northwest Tech is sometimes in session even if the area high schools are not in session. Students are required to attend Northwest Tech even if their home high school is not in session. Northwest Tech’s yearly calendar is available online at http://www.nwtech.edu. If you have questions about the attendance policy, you may also contact the assistant superintendent, Mr. Daren Slater, at 580.327.0344.
